Will a slab hold a hot tub, RV, or boat?

Yes. Each puts down a heavy, concentrated load, so we add depth and reinforcement and bring in rebar wherever the weight genuinely warrants it. A hot tub also wants a level base that holds steady as the sandy ground wets and dries, which is why a sound, well-drained base counts for as much as the steel. Name the equipment and we build the pad around it.

Do I need a vapor barrier under the slab?

For enclosed or heated slabs, usually yes, because a lake-side water table and damp Central Florida ground push moisture up through concrete. We make the call from what the slab is meant to do.

Does a concrete slab require a permit?
